Senate Passes Bill Allowing Indefinite Detention of Americans ... Considers Bill Authorizing More Torture

The Senate passed a bill today allowing indefinite detention of American citizens living within the U.S.
While some have claimed that this is incorrect, and that American citizens would be exempted from the indefinite detention within U.S. borders authorized by the Act, the Committee chairman who co-sponsored the bill – Carl Levin – stated today in Senate debate that it could apply to American citizens.
Levin cited the Supreme Court case of Hamdi which ruled that American citizens can be treated as enemy combatants:

“The Supreme Court has recently ruled there is no bar to the United States holding one of its own citizens as an enemy combatant,” said Levin. “This is the Supreme Court speaking.“

Under questioning from Rand Paul, co-sponsor John McCain said that Americans suspected of terrorism could be sent to Guantanamo.

The provision would authorize the military to indefinitely detain individuals — including U.S. citizens — without charge or trial.

“If these provisions pass, we could see American citizens being sent to Guantanamo Bay,” Rand said in the video. “This should be alarming to everyone watching this proceeding today. Because it puts every single American citizen at risk.”

“There is one thing and one thing only protecting innocent Americans from being detained at will at the hands of a too-powerful state — our Constitution, and the checks we put on government power,” he continued. “Should we err today and remove some of the most important checks on state power in the name of fighting terrorism, well, then the terrorists have won.”

“Detaining citizens without a court trial is not American. In fact, this alarming arbitrary power is reminiscent of Egypt’s ‘permanent’ Emergency Law authorizing preventive indefinite detention, a law that provoked ordinary Egyptians to tear their country apart last spring and risk their lives to fight.”

The debate is also being streamed live on CSpan-2.
While passage of the bill would make the Founding Fathers roll in their grave, it might not change that much.   As former constitutional lawyer Glenn Greenwald notes:

With very few exceptions, the McCain-Levin bill, awful though it is, doesn’t create any powers beyond what the O Admin thinks it now has.

Indeed, the U.S. has been a de facto police state for many years.

The same Senate is now considering a bill to repeal the prohibitions against torture:

The ACLU and over 30 other organizations sent a letter to the Senate asking them to oppose an effort in Congress that threatens to revive the use of torture and other inhumane interrogation techniques. If passed, an amendment introduced by Sen. Kelly Ayotte (R-N.H.) to the Defense Authorization bill would roll back torture prevention measures that Congress overwhelmingly approved in the 2005 McCain Anti-Torture Amendment, as well as a 2009 Executive Order on ensuring lawful interrogations. It would also require the administration to create a secret list of approved interrogation techniques in a classified annex to the existing interrogation field manual.

In a related development, republican presidential candidate Michele Bachmann renewed her attack on the prohibition of waterboarding and other forms of torture ….

Glenn Greenwald pointed out last week:

Andrew Sullivan … today noted that the U.S. under Obama imposes even less accountability for abuse of power and war crimes than does Bahrain:

Bahrain’s Sunni government promised “no immunity” for anyone suspected of abuses and said it would propose creating a permanent human rights watchdog commission. “All those who have broken the law or ignored lawful orders and instructions will be held accountable,” said a government statement, which says the report acknowledges that the “systematic practice of mistreatment” ended shortly after martial law was repealed on June 1.

As Andrew put it: “So a Middle East dictatorship has more democratic accountability for abuse of power, including torture, than the US under Obama.” Beyond things like this and the facts set forth in the last paragraph here, perhaps Andrew could use today’s post of his to help clear up the towering mystery he raised yesterday of liberal disenchantment with Obama. That American war criminals are being aggressively shielded from any and all accountability is not an ancillary matter but one of enduring historical significance.

That’s okay, though, because – according to top military, intelligence and civilian experts on interrogation – torture:

(1) Doesn’t produce actionable intelligence
(2) Reduces national security
(3) Creates more terrorists
(4) And is only useful for:

(A) Producing false confessions; and
(B) As a way of terrorizing the population

Greenpeace today renewed its demand for the Japanese government to keep its nuclear reactors offline as simulation maps of potential accidents at Japan’s nuclear plants – used in the development of nuclear emergency response efforts – “are completely inadequate, and have not been updated since the Fukushima disaster.”
Following a Greenpeace freedom of information request on November 25, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) released SPEEDI simulations of the radioactive contamination spread from all nuclear plants in Japan. Greenpeace said these maps show only extremely low releases of radioactivity over a 10km area around the plants in the event of meltdown, making any emergency response plan based on them totally insufficient should another severe disaster like the Fukushima Daiichi crisis occur.
The simulations released under FOI to Greenpeace were made to support emergency preparedness drills of local and central government authorities. They calculate the concentration of radioactivity in the air, contamination on the ground and dose to the population within a range of 10km. Based on these maps, drills on evacuation or sheltering of the population, or distribution of iodine pills are organized.
“The simulation of radioactive releases from the Ohi reactor for example, is scandalously inadequate. It foresees a radiation release in the order of 10,000 times less severe than what could happen during a major incident,” said Jan Vande Putte, Greenpeace International Nuclear Campaigner. “Similar over-optimistic scenarios have been used for reactors all over Japan. Hoping for the best is absolutely the wrong way to devise an emergency response plan.”

Have you ever been so poor that you had to live in your car?  Have you ever been so low on funds that the only place you could afford to live was a rat-infested motel?  Have you ever spent a night living in a tent city or sleeping in the streets?  If not, you should consider yourself to be very fortunate.  As the recent Black Friday madness ^[2]demonstrated, there are still lots of Americans that are doing well enough to go on wild shopping sprees, but the reality is that there are also millions of American families that are falling through the “safety net” to a place of total desperation.  In a previous article I talked about the fact that the U.S. Census Bureau recently announced that a higher percentage of Americans is living in extreme poverty ^[3] than has ever been measured before.  Not only that, 2.6 million more Americans fell into poverty last year.  That was also a new all-time record.  As you read this, one out of every seven Americans is on food stamps and one our of every four U.S. children is on food stamps.  Tens of millions of American families are living on the edge of desperation.  In many communities across the United States, there is so much despair in the air that it is almost tangible.  When you look into the eyes of many Americans these days, it almost seems as if all the hope has been sucked right out of their hearts.  Economic despair is at epidemic levels, and unfortunately the economy is about to get a whole lot worse.
Did you see the report on families that are living in their cars that Scott Pelley did for 60 Minutes the other night?
If you have not seen it yet, I highly recommend that you take a few minutes to check it out.
At one school in Florida alone, Pelley met 15 children ^[4] who had been living in  their cars.
The following is a brief excerpt from Pelley’s report….

This is the home of the Metzger family. Arielle,15. Her brother Austin, 13. Their mother died when they were very young. Their dad, Tom, is a carpenter. And, he’s been looking for work ever since Florida’s construction industry collapsed. When foreclosure took their house, he bought the truck on Craigslist with his last thousand dollars. Tom’s a little camera shy – thought we ought to talk to the kids – and it didn’t take long to see why.
Pelley: How long have you been living in this truck?
Arielle Metzger: About five months.
Pelley: What’s that like?
Arielle Metzger: It’s an adventure.
Austin Metzger: That’s how we see it.
Pelley: When kids at school ask you where you live, what do you tell ‘em?
Austin Metzger: When they see the truck they ask me if I live in it, and when I hesitate they kinda realize. And they say they won’t tell anybody.

Did you ever think that this would happen to America?
What makes things even sadder is that there are millions upon millions of empty homes right now in the United States.
Millions of American families have been foreclosed upon in recent years and home prices keep falling with no end in sight.
In fact, today it was reported that home prices are now the lowest that they have been in eight years ^[5].
So why aren’t people renting or buying more homes?
Well, the truth is that you can’t afford a mortgage payment or a rent payment if you don’t have a decent job.
When someone can’t find a good job, then none of the other economic statistics that many of us love to talk about so much really matter.
That is why I write about what is happening to American jobs so often.  Today, big corporations are shipping as many jobs as they can out of the country.  An average of 23 manufacturing facilities were shut down every single day ^[6] in the United States last year.  Even though our population is rapidly increasing, there are 10 percent fewer middle income jobs in the U.S. today than there were a decade ago.  Until this trend gets reversed, the number of American families living in their vehicles is only going to increase.
Unfortunately, the U.S. economy is about to get even worse.
Today, it was announced that American Airlines has filed for bankruptcy ^[7].  Sadly, there will be many more companies filing for bankruptcy during the upcoming economic downturn.
As I wrote about yesterday, we really are on the verge of a major leaguecollapse of the financial system ^[8] in Europe.
Jim Cramer of CNBC ^[9] says that because of what is happening in Europe, the global financial system is at “DEFCON 3, two stages from a financial collapse that is so huge it’s hard to get your mind around.”
Unfortunately, Jim Cramer is not exaggerating.  The global economy is heading for a massive amount of trouble ^[10] if something dramatic is not done immediately.
This is not a drill.  Bert Van Roosebeke, an economist with the Center for European Policy, recently made the following statement ^[11] about the cold, hard reality now facing Europe….

“We’re actually really running out of money”

Back during the early 1930s, the flow of credit was greatly restricted and that was one of the primary causes of the Great Depression.  Back in 2008, another massive credit crunch just about brought the financial world to its knees.
Well, now it is starting to happen again.  A nightmarish credit crunch has already begun in Europe, and nobody seems to have any answers about how to stop it.
The following comes from an article in the New York Times ^[12]….

From global airlines and shipping giants to small manufacturers, all kinds of companies are feeling the strain as European banks pull back on lending in an effort to hoard capital and shore up their balance sheets.
The result is a credit squeeze for companies from Berlin to Beijing, edging the world economy toward another slump.

When there is a credit crunch of this magnitude, it causes the money supply to start to shrink.  This is already happening all over Europe as a recent article inthe Telegraph ^[13] noted….

All key measures of the money supply in the eurozone contracted in October with drastic falls across parts of southern Europe, raising the risk of severe recession over coming months.

Right now, we are seeing the money supply in each of the “PIIGS” nations fall at a staggering rate.  The following comes from the same Telegraph article referenced above….

Simon Ward from Henderson Global Investors said “narrow” M1 money – which includes cash and overnight deposits, and signals short-term spending plans – shows an alarming split between North and South.
While real M1 deposits are still holding up in the German bloc, the rate of fall over the last six months (annualised) has been 20.7pc in Greece, 16.3pc in Portugal, 11.8pc in Ireland, and 8.1pc in Spain, and 6.7pc in Italy. The pace of decline in Italy has been accelerating, partly due to capital flight. “This rate of contraction is greater than in early 2008 and implies an even deeper recession, both for Italy and the whole periphery,” said Mr Ward.

Those numbers are really, really bad.
But instead of doing something to prepare for the coming economic crisis, members of the U.S. Congress are focused on stripping even more of our liberties and freedoms away from us.
As I wrote about yesterday ^[14], a new law (S. 1867 ^[15]) is being pushed through the U.S. Senate that is extremely frightening.
If this bill becomes a law, the United States of America would officially become part of the “battlefield” in the war on terror, and any American citizen could easily be flagged as a “potential terrorist”.
Once identified as a “potential terrorist”, the U.S. military would be able to arrest you, take you to a foreign prison and detain you for the rest of your life without ever having to charge you with anything.
What in the world is happening to America?
Unfortunately, as the economy gets even worse civil unrest in this country is going to intensify and the thin veneer of civilization ^[16] that we all take for granted is going to start to disappear.
In response to the coming civil unrest, the U.S. Congress will try to pass laws that will be even more repressive than S. 1867.
Our nation has entered a downward spiral and things are going to become very frightening if this thing is not turned around.

US Refusal to Negotiate Carbon Emissions Cuts Risks Derailing Summit

US refusal to negotiate legally-binding carbon emissions cuts risks derailing a UN summit convened to tackle climate change, environmental groups have warned in a letter to Hillary Clinton.

The letter, signed by 16 different organisations and sent to the US Secretary of State, said that while President Barack Obama pledged in November 2008 to "engage vigorously in these negotiations, and help lead the world toward a new era of global co-operation on climate change," he had failed to deliver on that pledge.

Signatories included Greenpeace USA, the Natural Resources Defence Council, Oxfam America, the Union of Concerned Scientists and the World Wildlife Fund.
Shortly after it was made public, the European Union delegation at the summit criticised the US for "overlooking the facts" on the risk of climate change and suggested it was not doing enough at home to live up to its promises to cut carbon emissions. The EU bloc wants the current talks to agree on a timetable for all major polluters to a legally binding agreement to cut their emissions by 2015.
At the opening of the UN climate change summit in Durban on Monday, the US said it would not consider committing to the EU's proposals until major developing countries such as China and India do. China, the world's biggest emitter, is also against the 2015 deadline.
Jonathan Pershing, the US Deputy Special Envoy for Climate Change, added that he believed voluntary cuts agreed by countries at the previous summit in Cancun were sufficient until 2020.
Scientists have said these are not enough to keep global temperatures from increasing by less than 2C above pre-industrial levels, after which the effects would spiral out of control.
Artur Runge-Metzger, the EU's chief negotiator, said the current voluntary pledges delivered "at best half of the global emissions reductions needed".
"Those who seem to think that it is enough for current pledges to stay as they are up to 2020 seem to be overlooking those facts," he said.
"The message from the science is crystal clear: we have to act now."
Speaking to the Daily Telegraph, he said that other countries had in the past hidden behind the US inaction to avoid taking action themselves.
He agreed with the authors of the letter to Mrs Clinton that a refusal by the US to negotiate its position could stall the summit.
"It will always have an effect," he said. "The bigger countries, the major economies, will always look towards the US.
"We would expect from the US that it engages in a dialogue to find more ways to reduce emission in the coming 10 years and to do that under a collective exercise under the (UN climate summit)."
The African delegation has also expressed frustration at the US position.
Also at Durban yesterday, it emerged that commercial banks including Barclays, JP Morgan Chase and Royal Bank of Scotland, have nearly doubled their support for the global coal industry since 2005, the year the Kyoto Protocol came into force.
The total value of financing for 31 major coal-mining companies and 40 producers of coal-fired electricity amounted to 232 billion euros over the five years, according to the lending portfolios of 93 of the world's leading banks.

Interdimensional Universe

Over the July 4, 2010 weekend, this reporter Alfred Lambremont Webre returned to the source of the modern era of flying saucers - the Cascade mountain range in Washington State - and to the interdimensional portals surrounding Mt. Adams, including the portals at the ECETI Ranch at the foot of Mt. Adams for the 2010 Science, Spirit & World Transformation Conference.
The result was a magical, interdimensional ‘Inter-dependence Day’ weekend with numerous documented UFOs, including a UFO documented following the International Space Station (ISS) as it orbited over Mt. Adams immediately after an intention experiment on the night of July 3, 2010; an interdimensional ET/UFO probe documented right after an intention experiment with a group ‘laughter’ meditation on the night of July 4, 2010; and an interdimensional ET/UFO that flew around an outdoor circle formed by approximately 200 conference participants on the night of July 3, 2010.
It is uncertain whether the UFO following the International Space Station (ISS) in the July 3, 2010 videos taken at Mt Adams is the unmanned Russian cargo ship Progress 38, which docked with the ISS on Sunday July 4, 2010 at 12:17 p.m. EDT (1617 GMT). The previous, failed docking of the Progress 38 unmanned cargo ship was on Friday July 2, 2010.
NASA spokesperson Stephanie Schierholz stated to this reporter that "it was safe to assume" that the UFO was the Progress 38 unmanned Russian space cargo.  The ECETI videos have been forwarded to NASA spokesperson Stephanie Schierholz for further review and analysis by NASA.

Other documented past visitors at Mt. Adams ECETI interdimensional portals include a 10 foot tall intelligent feline extraterrestrial, and an interdimensional being in the Marian archetype (who may be an upper-dimensional extraterrestrial from a constellation in this galaxy), that were photographed by Kan, a Japanese monk and teacher at the ECETI Ranch.  Kan’s photographs of these multi-dimensional beings and Vancouver UFO Examiner Jon Kelly’s photographs of the hyperdimensional UFOs that appeared at the 2010 conference are included in a special slide show in the Examiner.com below.
Describing Mt. Adams, one source states, "Mount Adams is a potentially active stratovolcano in the Cascade Range and the second-highest mountain in the U.S. state of Washington.  Adams is a member of the Cascade Volcanic Arc, and is one of the arc's largest volcanoes, located in a remote wilderness approximately 31 miles (50 km) east of Mount St. Helens.  The Mount Adams Wilderness comprises the upper and western part of the volcano's cone. The eastern side of the mountain is part of the Yakama Nation.
"Mt. Adams asymmetrical and broad body rises 1.5 miles (2.4 km) above the Cascade crest. Its nearly flat summit was formed as a result of cone-building eruptions from separated vents. Air travelers flying the busy routes above the area sometimes confuse Mount Adams with nearby Mount Rainier, which has a similar flat-topped shape.
"Native Americans in the area have composed many legends concerning the three 'smoking mountains' that guard the Columbia River. According to the Bridge of the Gods tale, Wy'east (Mount Hood) and Pahto (Mount Adams; also called Paddo or Klickitat by native peoples) were the sons of the Great Spirit. The brothers both competed for the love of the beautiful La-wa-la-clough (Mount St. Helens). When La-wa-la-clough chose Pahto, Wy'east struck his brother hard so that Pahto's head was flattened and Wy'east took La-wa-la-clough from him (thus attempting to explain Adams' squat appearance). Other versions of the story state that losing La-wa-la-clough caused Pahto such grief that he dropped his head in shame."
Physicist Nassim Haramein tells us that the sun is the singularity or interdimensional portal to our solar system, and the Seattle Exopolitics Examiner has documented how giant UFOs appear to be accessing our solar system through the star gate in our sun.
Volcanoes like Mt. Adams - Nassim Haramein also tells us - are the planet’s singularities, and are interdimensional portals or star gates for entry into our 3rd dimension ‘airspace’ of interdimensional probes by intelligent ET civilizations and multi-dimensional beings.
This reporter Alfred Lambremont Webre personally witnessed numerous interdimensional UFO probes occurring at the ECETI Ranch at the foot of Mt. Adams every evening from July 1 through July 4, 2010.  A number of specific experiments were undertaken to intentionally trigger interdimensional UFO probes through meditation and intention exercises.  These exercises appear to have been successful, as demonstrated by the videos in the Examiner.com article below.

Evaluation of one ECETI UFO intention experiments is still pending final anaylsis by NASA.

Adams and formed a collective intention for interdimensional UFOs to appear.
The participants were also connected to a radiant energy generator carrying 1.5 million volts of D.C. radiant energy to enhance the unity of consciousness of the intention experiment participants.
During and after this ECETI UFO intention experiment, a number of UFOs appeared over the Field of Dreams and the Mt. Adams area, photographs of which appear in the special slide show at the end of this article.
During and after the intention experiment circle, the International Space Station (ISS) was also documented as being followed closely by a UFO as the ISS crossed the skies above Mt. Adams, the ECETI Ranch, and the field where the 200 persons had gathered with their UFO intention.  It may be that this UFO is the Progress 38 Russian unmanned cargo, and a final determoination is pending NASA revies of the videos in this article.

Another participant in the July 3, 2010 intention experiment at the ECETI Ranch independently captured the UFO following the International Space Station over the area where the 200 experiment participants had formed a UFO intention circle in this video.



ECETI conference speaker Jon Kelly states that he had videotaped the UFO actually overtaking the International Space Station.  Mr. Kelly writes, “Immediately following the July 3rd, 2010 intention experiment held in the ECETI ‘Field of Dreams’, a UFO was observed following the ISS and this event was captured on at least 3 different camera systems.
“My 3CCD video camera was equipped with a 32 power optical zoom using a 77mm objective glass. Viewing the event through this system, I was able to record and identify that the UFO was red in color, and that it was overtaking the ISS.
“Unfortunately, that tape, which included at least 5 other UFO events from that evening, has gone missing. It may have been lost, stolen, or absorbed by the mysterious Mt. Adams portal.”

Successful Vancouver BC UFO intention experiment
These successful results in the 2010 ECETI UFO intention experiments match those of a successful interdimensional UFO-intention experiment carried out by two of the speakers at the 2010 ECETI conference, Examiner.com reporters Jon Kelly and Alfred Lambremont Webre and two participants, psychologist-psychic Geri DeStefano-Webre, PhD and Buddhist artist Marianna Rydvald on September 12, 2009 in Vancouver, B.C.  These four individuals formed an intention to have interdimensional UFOs appear over their heads in Jericho Beach, Vancouver, B.C.
Jon Kelly writes that, in the video below, “the video evidence reveals three different bodies - one which was visible to the naked eye and two which were only observed through infrared night vision. Sophisticated interaction was also demonstrated by one of the objects powering-up, magnifying its luminous intensity in the background behind the witnesses who were talking on camera.”

UFO intention experiment: ‘are we going to be taken up’ in an interdimensional UFO?
This reporter Alfred Lambremont Webre was a 2010 conference speaker and a part of the intention experiments at the ECETI Ranch.
During the intention experiment on the night of July 3, I was in the ECETI Mt Adams 'Field of Dreams' as part of the circle of approximately 200 persons forming a conscious, collective intention calling on interdimensional UFOs to appear.  I was about 30 persons to the left in the circle facing inward from a radiant energy generator carrying 1.5 million volts of D.C. radiant energy to enhance the unity of consciousness of the intention experiment participants.
About 30 minutes into the intention experiment I observed a large interdimensional UFO appearing as a large moving light to my left, traversing slowly on the horizon, perhaps some 1000 meters from the circle of experiment participants and perhaps 50 meters off the ground.
I watched closely as the interdimensional UFO continued in a slow arc circumnavigating about 90 degrees of the full 360 degrees of the full circle, and as it came to a rest, floating about 1000 meters beyond the far end of the circle of 200 persons, and stopping directly in front of my position in the circle, as I faced inward toward the center of the circle.
At that very moment I remember thinking to myself, “I wonder if we are going to be taken up inside this UFO.”
I remember that thought being both exciting and slightly anxiety producing at the same time.
Even as my mind entertained that thought, the hyperdimensional UFO then moved directly away from the circle opposite where I was standing and eventually disappeared into the distance.
The next morning, July 4, 2010, I shared my story about having the “I wonder if we are going to be taken up inside this UFO” thoughts during the intention experiment the night before with a six other participants in that experiment.
Each person I spoke to said that on the night of July 3, they had seen a hyperdimensional UFO making a slow arc around the circle, and had also experienced the identical thoughts that I had, namely: “I wonder if we are going to be taken up inside this UFO.”
Examiner.com reporter Jon Kelly had documented this July 3 hyperdimensional UFO as part of his videotaping of the July 3, 2010 intention experiment.  As Mr. Kelly observed (above), unfortunately, his videotape of the event was lost.
On the morning of July 5, 2010, this reporter Alfred Lambremont Webre recounted my July 3 experience of the UFO going around the circle of participants to ECETI founder James Gilliland.  Mr. Gilliland observed that he also had seen the July 3 UFO arcing around the intention circle, that that and he as well had experienced the “I wonder if we are going to be taken up inside this UFO” thoughts during the experiment.
Theoretically, it would be possible – though highly unlikely - for participants in a UFO intention experiment to have been teleported into an interdimensional UFO spacecraft without ‘lost time’ and without conscious memory of the event.

In the course of the July 2010 ECETI conference itself, both founder James Gilliland and Alfred Lambremont Webre were able to show photographs taken at the ECETI Ranch by Kan, a Japanese monk and teacher, of a number of multi-dimensional beings who manifested as a result of intention experiments by Kan and ECETI founder James Gilliland.
At one intention experiment, a multi-dimensional being with a Madonna or Marian archetype manifested to be photographed by Kan.
During the intention experiment, as Kan and Mr. Gilliland would ask the multi-dimensional Marian being to appear more clearly in the photograph, the Marian being responded with a clearer image of herself in the next photo.
The same positive correlation - between experimenter intention and photographic clarity of the multi-dimensional being - occurred in Kan’s photographs of an intelligent 10-foot tall feline extraterrestrial.
As Kan and Mr. Gilliland would ask that the 10 foot tall feline extraterrestrial to appear more clearly in Kan’s photographs, a clearer image of the multi-dimensional being materializing in the 3rd dimensional ECETI Ranch reality occurred with each successive photo of four photographs.

Chemtrails over the ECETI conference hall
These interdimensional UFO experiences occurred despite the massive spraying of up to 15 chemtrails daily by United States Air Force transport planes at low altitudes directly over the ECETI conference hall, witnessed by this reporter and many other conference participants.  ECETI, at the foot of Mt. Adams is next to a designated federal Wilderness area and Native American Yakama reserve.
Chemtrails, which have been theorized as the atmospheric component of the space-based anti-ET and mood control weapon of mass destruction known as HAARP, may serve as an amplifier for the consciousness-damping effects of HAARP.
How to evaluate the ECETI UFO intention experiments
1.  Unity consciousness and the ECETI UFO intention experiments – The achievement of unity consciousness among the experiment participants appears to be one component of the successful UFO intention experiments.  Exercises or devices such as the July 4, 2010 ‘laughing' meditation or the July 3, 2010 ‘unity consciousness’ generator may promote this unity consciousness.
2.  Successful UFO intention experiments July 1-4, 2010 – Successful UFO intention experiments were carried out at the ECETI Ranch at the foot of the Mt. Adams singularity, or interdimensional portal on each of the evenings of July 1-4, 2010.  A similar successful UFO intention experiment was carried out at a public beach in Vancouver, BC on September 12, 2009.
These UFO intention experiments can include in the future an intention for face-to-face interaction with the intelligent civilization or source behind the interdimensional UFOs.
3.  Intention experiments and intelligent multi-dimensional beings – Intelligent, multi-dimensional beings such as the Marian being and the intelligent feline extraterrestrial appeared for face-to-face encounters and photographs at the ECETI interdimensional portals.  Through their interactions with ECETI personnel, these beings appear as advanced, ethical, enlightened, and having humanity’s spiritual evolution at heart.
Intention experiments at ethical interdimensional portals such as ECETI may be a new channel for humanity to face-to-face access to higher dimension spiritual and extraterrestrial beings.
The access channels to ethical higher intelligence offered by traditional religious organizations and by secret star gates exploited by U.S. and other military-intelligence agencies may be too unethical and corrupted to provide humanity with present access to the higher spiritual and extraterrestrial entities in our universe and in spiritual dimensions.
4.  Universe singularity vs. USAF chemtrails - Unity consciousness in the experiment participants may also be promoted by the consciousness waves of ‘enlightened unity consciousness’ now emanating from the singularity at the core of our universe, as reported by reporter Alfred Lambremont Webre in GOOD NEWS! This unity consciousness and the UFO intention experiments did not appear to be negatively affected by the frequent chemtrailing by the United States Air Force.

Rogue states spurn international law, treaties, conventions, and in Israel's case its own laws and Supreme Court decisions.   Daily examples offer proof, including from Ahmed el-Helah and Mariam Itani's new book titled, "The Suffering of the Palestinian Child under the Israeli Occupation," saying:   Over a million Palestinian children "live and suffer every moment of their lives under the painful reality of occupation."   Growing numbers are killed, injured, maimed, handicapped, arrested, imprisoned, and tortured. Most are impoverished and many hungry.   "What about those who have lost their parents, friends, brothers and sisters due to" continuous Israeli oppression?   "What about the children who live in fear and who suffer distress or cannot sleep, who feel unprotected in the face of a ruthless and arrogant Israeli occupation?"   They're Palestine's children, out of sight and mind to most people everywhere. Who outside Palestine understands their suffering?   Who can imagine the indifference of world leaders, supporting a ruthless, racist occupier, disdainful of human and civil rights?   Who understands enduring daily assaults, police state justice, and fear of being bombed, shot, or otherwise harmed? How do you comfort young children to hold up in the face of what adults can't tolerate?   From September 29, 2000 (the start of the second Intifada) through December 31, 2008, Palestinian children witnessed around 5,900 killings and another 35,000 Israeli caused injuries.   During Israel's war on Gaza, another 1,400 died and thousands sustained injuries, many of them permanently disabling.   Children enduring Israeli atrocities "lose their childhood and innocence, just as they lose hope and joy in their lives."   The occupation's extreme harshness causes physical and emotional problems. It also "ignite(s) the spirit of resistance and deepen(s) hatred" against a rogue oppressor disdainful of their rights.   The authors concluded saying Israel's occupation must be condemned, ended, and responsible officials "prosecute(d) in international judicial institutions for committing the most horrific and inhumane crimes against" young children, wanting only to live free like Jews.   On November 24, Haaretz writer Ari Shavit's article headlined, "Israel is becoming a bullying and violent place," saying:   "It's depressing" to see free expression compromised. It's heading perhaps toward prohibiting it altogether to quash political criticism.   "It's depressing....to make it harder for journalists to publish in-depth investigative reports." It's unacceptable to gag the media and criminalize writers exposing vital truths everyone should know.   It's frightening to see "dark forces....resolved to undermine the rule of law" and defile democratic values and justice.   Shavit calls it "the bacterium of the end that justifies the means; the disease of an agenda that bends the rules." No wonder Israel's not fit to live in, including for most Jews.   Following Palestine's UNESCO membership, Israel froze Palestinian Authority (PA) tax revenues vitally needed to operate. Doing so was lawless, malicious and vindictive.   On November 24, the International Middle East Media Center (IMEMC) headlined, "Israel Won't Release Funds to a Fatah-Hamas Unity Government," quoting Israel's ultranationalist Foreign Minister, Avigdor Lieberman, saying:   "Israel will not recognize it, will not negotiate with it, and will not transfer it even one dime" unless it accedes to Israeli demands. In other words, only Israel's rights matter, not Palestine's under any government.   On November 23, IMEMC said Israel again bombed Gaza and attacked Palestinian fishing boats. No injuries were reported, but terrified fishermen "suffered anxiety attacks while trying to rush back to shore."   Israel forces also invaded An-Nahda, east of Rafah with tanks and military bulldozers to destroy Palestinian land and crops. Shots were fired. Helicopters used flares. No injuries occurred.   On November 24, the Palestine News & Information Agency (WAFA) said Israeli forces used heavy military machinery to destroy Palestinian huts and wells in Idhna, west of Hebron.   Samu, Beit Awwa, Halhul, Dora, and Taffuh were also raided near Hebron. Recently released prisoners were ordered to report to Israeli intelligence for questioning. Others were targeted earlier. They'll perhaps be reincarcerated unless agree to spy on their own people. Most refuse and suffer grievously.   WAFA also said about 14 buses carrying around 1,400 settlers broke into Joseph's Tomb in Nablus. Protected by Israeli forces, they performed rituals and prayers lawlessly.   An Israeli military spokeswoman called it a "coordinated entrance." Palestinians said Israeli soldier fired tear gas and stun grenades at angry residents.   Israeli Deputy Prime Minister Eli Yishai said Jews "must restore Israeli control over the tomb because we have to do what is best for Israel." Palestinian rights don't matter. Neither do rule of law principles. Might makes right oppresses Palestinians daily.   On November 23, Israel forces raided a Palestinian school in Khirbet Susiya south of Yatta in Hebron. Its principal got demolition orders for the school, a water well and three adjacent greenhouses.   Seven teachers and 36 students are affected. After Israel demolished the school last year, it was rebuilt with bricks and tin. Lawless demolitions are official Israeli policy.   On November 23, 972mag.com headlined, "Police, protesters clash in front of Likud headquarters in Tel Aviv," saying:   Angry about anti-democratic Knesset measures, about 200 people "block(ed) King George Street in the center of the city. Police" used pepper spray. At least one arrest occurred.   Earlier in the evening a larger protest was held near where summer social justice demonstrators rallied for weeks.   Many covered their their mouths with tape or masks to symbolize opposition against Israel's war on free expression. Increasingly, Israelis know even Jews now have fewer rights on the way perhaps to losing them entirely.   On November 21 in Vienna, a closed-door IAEA meeting discussed a nuclear-free Middle East. Iran boycotted the session. Syria attended and called Israel's arsenal a "grave and serious threat."   Attending pro-Western despotic Arab League representatives declined comment. Nothing came out of the meeting, despite calls for more Israeli transparency.   Israel refused, saying transparency won't come until "the threat perception of all regional members is low." In fact, Israel alone threatens neighbors, including with nuclear weapons.   On November 24, Netanyahu criticized Arab Spring supporters, saying it reflects "moving not forward, but backward." He added that history will prove him right about the "Islamic, anti-Western, anti-liberal, anti-Israeli, and anti-democratic wave" sweeping the region.   "Israel is facing a period of instability and uncertainty in the region....I remember many of you urged me to take the opportunity to make hasty concessions, to rush to an agreement" with Palestinians. "But I will not establish Israel's policy on illusions. There's a huge upheaval here. Whoever doesn't see it is burying his head in the sand."   In fact, Israel alone menaces regional neighbors. Democracy's disappearing at home. Arab citizens are treated like fifth column threats. Most Israeli Jews are marginalized. Israel's closest Middle East allies are despots. It's only enemies are ones it creates. It needs them to justify violence, occupation and severe repression.   Indeed anti-Israeli sentiment is increasing with good reason. Despots like Netanyahu and extremist MKs make it possible. Kadima MK Shaul Mofaz accused him of creating an Israeli dictatorship, saying:   "Orwell's world is coming to life under your government's legislation, which is aiming to enforce elements of oppression and is creating a vision of horrors the likes of which we've never seen. It is as if 1984 is here."   He referred to life inside Israel. Imagine how much worse conditions are for Occupied Palestinians, suffering horrific daily oppression.   A Final Comment   Even a broken clock is right twice daily. On November 22, so was The New York Times, giving rare op-ed space to legitimate commentary for Sarah Schulman's piece titled, "Israel and 'Pinkwashing,' " saying:   In 2005, American PR firms began a "Brand Israel" campaign, seeking to portray the Jewish state as "relevant and modern."   "The government later expanded the marketing plan by harnessing the gay community to reposition its global image."   Tel Aviv's tourism board wants the city branded as "an international gay vacation destination." Last May, "Prime Minister Netanyahu told Congress that the Middle East was 'a region where women are stoned, gays are hanged, Christians are persecuted.' "   "The growing global gay movement against the Israeli occupation (calls) these tactics 'pinkwashing:' a deliberate strategy to conceal the continuing violations of Palestinians' human rights behind an image of modernity signified by Israeli gay life."   Israel manipulates hard-won Israeli gay community gains for PR purposes. Storms and droughts that have unleashed dangerous surges in food prices could be a "grim foretaste" of what lies ahead when climate change bites more deeply, Oxfam said on Monday.

In a report issued at the start of UN climate talks, the British charity pointed to spikes in wheat, corn and sorghum prices, triggered by extreme weather, that had driven tens of millions into poverty over the past 18 months.

"This will only get worse as climate change gathers pace and agriculture feels the heat," said Oxfam's Kelly Dent.

"When a weather event drives local or regional price spikes, poor people often face a double shock.

"They have to cope with higher food prices at a time when extreme weather may have also killed their livestock, destroyed their home or farm, or stripped them of their livelihood.

"This toxic mix of higher prices and lower purchasing power has driven many people into crisis this year," said Dent.

"If we don't act in Durban, this pattern could become even worse."

In 2010, a heatwave in Russia and Ukraine sparked a rise of 60 to 80 percent in international wheat prices between July and September.

By April 2011, wheat prices were 85 percent higher on international markets than the year before, Oxfam said.

In July 2011, the price of sorghum was 393 percent higher in Somalia, while corn (maize) in Ethiopia and Kenya was up to 191 and 161 percent higher respectively compared with the five-year average, reflecting the impact of drought in the Horn of Africa.

Rainstorms and typhoons in Southeast Asia, meanwhile, have driven up the price of rice in Thailand and Vietnam. In September and October, the cost of this staple was 25-30 percent higher there than a year earlier.

And a major drought in Afghanistan helped push up wheat and wheat flour prices there to 79 percent higher this July than the previous year.

In February, the World Bank estimated that 44 million people in developing economies had fallen into extreme poverty as a result of spiralling food prices.

In the November issue of its "Food Price Watch" report, the Bank said that a global index of food prices peaked in February but had dipped by five percent since then.

Even so, the index was still 19 percent higher than in September 2010, although the figure varied greatly according to the country and the commodity, it said.

Oxfam said price hikes were a source of despair for the needy.

"For the poorest who spend up to 75 percent of their income on food, price rises on this scale can have consequences as families are forced into impossible trade-offs in a desperate bid to feed themselves," it said.

It pointed to a just-published investigation by the UN's panel of climate scientists, which said man-made global warming had already boosted heatwaves and flood-provoking rainfall and was likely to contribute to future disasters.

"More frequent and extreme weather events will compound things further, creating shortages, destabilising markets and precipitating price spikes, which will be felt on top of the structural price rises predicted by the models," Oxfam said.

It appealed to the conference of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) to slash greenhouse gases and activate a planned fund to help poor countries.

One goal of the Durban talks is to breathe life into a "Green Climate Fund" that, by 2020, would channel as much as $100 billion a year to countries most likely to bear the brunt of climate change. But approval has been held up by squabbles over the fund's design.

November 27, 2011 – STOCKHOLM – A storm ravaging southwestern Sweden has cut off the electricity supply to some 12,000 homes and has disrupted ferry services between Sweden and Germany. Ferry operator Scandlines said Sunday it has canceled its operations between Swedish town Trelleborg and Sassnitz in Germany due to the storm. Another operator, TT-Line said its ferries from Trelleborg to Rostock and Travemunde were severely delayed. Utilities Vattenfall, Fortum and Eon said the storm has cut off electricity supply to around 12,000 of their clients. The Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute has issued a class 3 warning for the storm, its highest level, saying the extreme winds could pose danger to the public and disrupt services. –Las Vegas Sun 

 Rare system to hit California: TWS’ Southern California Weather Authority has issued a Special Weather Statement for an inside slider storm system that could potentially be interesting for the Southwestern United States on Thursday and Friday.  The SCWXA Special Weather Statement went into effect this morning at 7:45 a.m. Pacific Standard Time. The statement outlines a concern for strong winds and possibly a storm system combined in a rare flow into Southern California. WS Senior Meteorologist Kevin Martin calls the event a once in a decade event and is watching it closely. “The storm system is going to come in from the north, through the interior of the country,” said Martin. “This means that it will generate cold air with it across the Great Basin and shove that southward in the form of Santa Ana Winds. Furthermore, this storm system will bring moisture into it from the Pacific so we are looking at a rare combo of Santa Ana Winds and Thunderstorms across the Southland.”TWS’ Southern California Weather Authority will continue to monitor the latest on this storm system, which has been officially named “Faith” with a category to be determined on the SCWXA scale. –The Weather Space 

Sri Lanka caught by surprise: State agencies failed to give early warnings of the gale force winds that caused havoc in the south on Friday, it was revealed yesterday. Gale-force winds in the south left 19 dead and another 35 missing, whilst rising flood waters elsewhere in the country have taken a toll of seven lives, officials said. The worst affected was the coastal areas of Galle and Matara where 17 people were confirmed dead and 35 people, mainly fishermen, missing or feared dead, as a gale-force storm hit the coast without warning early on Friday.The storm, packing winds of up to 70 kilometres an hour hit the southern coast caught thousands of people unawares and trapped scores of fishermen who had gone out to sea. Scotland forecast of gale force winds: Severe gale force winds are set to batter northern areas of the country. Forecasters say the winds, which are travelling west across the north of Scotland, will be in excess of 80mph, and that 90mph gales are “not out of the question.” The worst hit areas are expected to be in Orkney, Caithness, Sutherland and the Western Isles. Elsewhere, gusts could reach up to 70mph, but will not be as strong in Tayside, the Borders and Lothian regions, where winds are expected to be between 55-60mph. The Met Office has issued amber alerts for the Highlands, Orkney and Shetland and parts of Grampian, where gales could become severe and possibly storm-force. -AFP 

Norway hammered by strong winds : Following Friday’s extreme weather warnings for places such as the coast of Møre og Romsdal up to Sør-Troms, the Meteorological Office now says it expects winds to reach gale force 10 (storm) on the Rogaland coast south of Stad, with strong gale (force 9) in other parts. Weathermen expect it to lessen this evening. Still in Rogaland, police say two men, aged 25 and 27, are missing off the coast of Egersund after being swept out to sea earlier this afternoon. Both were part of a film crew that were filming in Sokndal at the time. Weather conditions in the area made it impossible for divers to go into the water. Strong winds in Stavanger also caused police to close off parts of the city centre in fears the strong winds could cause loose objects to injure people and damage vehicles. –The Foreigner 

Finland hit by howling winds and snow: A storm that has hit Finland from the west is bringing hazardous road conditions to parts of Central Finland. The Finnish Meteorological Institute (FMI) said on Sunday evening that a belt of snow was extending from the south-west to North Karelia. This area could pick up between 10 and 20 centimetres of snow, while the south coast may receive sleet later. Meanwhile winds were blowing at severe gale force of around 21 metres per second off the south coast, particularly around the Hanko peninsula. Some 13,000 Fortum customers were without power in southern and south-western Finland. Police said roads were very hazardous due to heavy snowfall in North Satakunta, South Ostrobothnia, Pirkanmaa and Central Finland. Driving conditions are expected to become poor to very hazardous throughout central and southern Finland due to snow or sleet. –YLE.fi

U.S. states hammered by strong gusty winds: There were strong winds most of Saturday in the Omaha area, but the biggest gust came at 1:15 p.m., according to the National Weather Service office in Valley, Neb. A 51 mph gust was recorded at Eppley Airfield, said Van DeWald, a meteorologist with the weather service. For most of the day, northwest winds were clocked blowing between 20 and 30 mph with the occasional stronger gusts. A lighter breeze will continue Sunday with winds between 10 and 20 mph with gusts around 29 mph, according to the weather service. Similar stories of howling winds are being reported in Oklahoma and Texas. –Omaha.com 

Police urge residents in Calgary to stay indoors: High winds are wreaking havoc throughout the city, including broken windows downtown at TD Square and downed power lines in Calgary. Police are urging residents to stay indoors as flying debris is becoming a hazard on roads and walkways. “We’ve got complaints coming from all over the city,” said duty inspector Keith Cain. “It’s safer just to stay inside.” Destructive winds are felling trees and even ripped off three LRT crossing arms, causing delays. Police have closed to street to pedestrians and traffic along 7th Avenue and 3rd Street SW after reports of multiple broken windows at TD Square.The wind ripped the roof off and smashed windows out of the home in the 100 block of Slopes GV SW. Travel is not advised outside the city and police are advising motorists not to travel south due to extremely high winds. –Edmonton Journal

Heat-trapping greenhouse gases in the atmosphere are building up so high, so fast, that some scientists now think the world can no longer limit global warming to the level world leaders have agreed upon as safe.
New figures from the U.N. weather agency Monday showed that the three biggest greenhouse gases not only reached record levels last year but were increasing at an ever-faster rate, despite efforts by many countries to reduce emissions.
As world leaders meet next week in South Africa to tackle the issue of climate change, several scientists said their projections show it is unlikely the world can hold warming to the target set by leaders just two years ago in Copenhagen.
“The growth rate is increasing every decade,” said Jim Butler, director of the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Global Monitoring Division. “That’s kind of scary.”
Scientists can’t say exactly what levels of greenhouse gases are safe, but some fear a continued rise in global temperatures will lead to irreversible melting of some of the world’s ice sheets and a several-foot rise in sea levels over the centuries — the so-called tipping point.
The findings from the U.N. World Meteorological Organization are consistent with other grim reports issued recently. Earlier this month, figures from the U.S. Department of Energy showed that global carbon dioxide emissions in 2010 jumped by the highest one-year amount ever.
The WMO found that total carbon dioxide levels in 2010 hit 389 parts per million, up from 280 parts per million in 1750, before the start of the Industrial Revolution. Levels increased 1.5 ppm per year in the 1990s and 2.0 per year in the first decade of this century, and are now rising at a rate of 2.3 per year. The top two other greenhouse gases — methane and nitrous oxide — are also soaring. The U.N. agency cited fossil fuel-burning, loss of forests that absorb CO2 and use of fertilizer as the main culprits.
Since 1990 — a year that international climate negotiators have set as a benchmark for emissions — the total heat-trapping force from all the major greenhouse gases has increased by 29 percent, according to NOAA.
The accelerating rise is happening despite the 1997 Kyoto agreement to cut emissions. Europe, Russia and Japan have about reached their targets under the treaty. But China, the U.S. and India are all increasing emissions. The treaty didn’t require emission cuts from China and India because they are developing nations. The U.S. pulled out of the treaty in 2001, the Senate having never ratified it.
While scientists can’t agree on what level of warming of the climate is considered dangerous, environmental activists have seized upon 350 parts per million as a target for carbon dioxide levels. The world pushed past that mark more than 20 years ago.
Governments have focused more on projected temperature increases rather than carbon levels. Since the mid-1990s, European governments have set a goal of limiting warming to slightly more than 2 degrees Fahrenheit (1.2 degrees Celsius) above current levels by the end of this century. The goal was part of a nonbinding agreement reached in Copenhagen in 2009 that was signed by the U.S. and other countries.
Temperatures have already risen about 1.4 degrees Fahrenheit (0.8 degrees Celsius) since pre-industrial times.
Massachusetts Institute of Technology professors Ron Prinn, Henry Jacoby and John Sterman said MIT’s calculations show the world is unlikely to meet that two-degree goal now.
“There’s very, very little chance,” Prinn said. “One has to be pessimistic about making that absolute threshold.” He added: “Maybe we’ve waited too long to do anything serious if two degrees is the danger level.”
Andrew Weaver at the University of Victoria, Granger Morgan of Carnegie Mellon University and Gregg Marland of Appalachian State University agreed with the MIT analysis that holding warming to two degrees now seems unlikely.
“There’s no way to stop it. There’s so much inertia in the system,” Morgan said. “We’ve committed to quite a bit of warming.”
Prinn said new studies predict that if temperatures increase by more than two degrees, the Greenland ice sheets will start an irreversible melting. And that will add to sea level rise significantly.
“Over the next several centuries, Greenland slowly melts away,” Weaver said.

Atmospheric levels of the greenhouse gases responsible for global warming are rising faster and faster, the World Meteorological Organisation (WMO) has warned.

Concentrations of carbon dioxide and other gases reached record highs in 2010, the WMO said, with atmospheric CO2 reaching 389 parts per million (ppm) – a rise of 23 per cent since precise measurements began in 1958, when the figure stood at 315ppm.
The rate of the rise is steadily increasing. Concentrations of CO2 went up by 2.3ppm between 2009 and 2010. The average annual rise in the 1990s was 1.5ppm.

Startling radiation levels have been recorded in California as the full extent of the devastation caused by the multiple on going Fukushima nuclear meltdowns slowly becomes clear.
Enviroreporter, a website run by an award winning investigative journalist, released a video on November 16th which documented these high radiation readings.
The video description went on to connect these readings with the Fukushima nuclear disaster.
“Alpha and beta radiation captured by the filter can be attributed to the triple Fukushima Japan meltdowns, melt-throughs and melt-outs and the decision to begin burning 550,000 tons of radioactive debris in Tokyo from October to March, sending a double dose of radioactive fallout on the Jet Stream over the Pacific to land on America, Canada and beyond.”
As our government, specifically the EPA and NRC, continue their complete coverup of the Fukushima nuclear disaster it becomes extremely important for independent citizens and journalists to continue to document real radiation readings and release them in full to the public.

Bush and Blair Found Guilty of War Crimes

Bush and Blair Convicted of War Crimes

 

 

George W. Bush and Tony Blair have been found guilty of war crimes for committing crimes against humanity during the Iraq war.
Granted, it was not the U.S., or England or any other Western country … but Malaysia.
Specifically, as Press TV notes:

The Kuala Lumpur War Crimes Tribunal found the former heads of state guilty after a four-day hearing. A seven-member panel chaired by former Malaysian Federal Court judge Abdul Kadir Sulaiman presided over the trial.

One of the prosecutors for the war crimes tribunal  -  Dr. Francis Boyle (Professor of International Law at the University of Illinois, Champaign, a leading practitioner and advocate of international law, who is responsible for drafting the Biological Weapons Anti-Terrorism Act of 1989, the American implementing legislation for the 1972 Biological Weapons Convention, who represented Bosnia- Herzegovina at the World Court, with a Doctor of Law Magna Cum Laude as well as a Ph.D. in Political Science, both from Harvard University) – had this to say about the verdict:

“Bush and Blair are found guilty under the same law that applied to the Nazis after the end of the World War II. So, they are international (war) criminals guilty of Nuremberg crimes against peace; and they should be prosecuted by any state in the world that gets a hold of them. We will continue our efforts to bring Bush and Blair to justice and put them in jail,” Francis Boyle, an international law expert and prosecutor, told Press TV.

The tribunal isn’t stopping there:

The [Malaysian] War Crimes Tribunal is scheduled to hold a separate hearing next year on charges of torture linked to the Iraq war against former US officials including ex-Vice President Dick Cheney, former Secretary of State Donald Rumsfeld and ex-Attorney General Alberto Gonzales.

Spain, of course, came close to indicting Bush for war crimes. As I noted in 2009:

The Spanish judge who investigated and charged Chilean dictator Augusto Pinochet for war crimes has his eye on – and may prosecute – Bush Officials for torture.

But the U.S. pressured the Spanish government to use hardball tactics to the judge’s efforts.
The U.N. also considered war crimes prosecutions. As I pointed out in 2009, the head of the U.N.’s human rights arm demanded that prosecutor’s investigations into illegal torture go to the top … including Bush and Cheney.

So the fact that any nation – even one which is predominately Muslim – has overcome U.S. and British pressure and actually indicted Bush and Blair for war crimes is newsworthy. Moreover, two towns in Vermont, Amnesty International and other groups – see this, and this – argue that Bush and Cheney should be arrested on sight for war crimes under U.S. and international law.
Indeed, Bush has canceled scheduled trips in order to avoid arrest.
Next, the Malaysians will lobby the International Criminal Court to charge the pair for war crimes. If the ICC agrees to charges, that would be Nuremberg-level news.
Note:  Former congresswoman McKinney points out that the amicus defense team for Bush and Blair argued that the “emotionalism” born of 9/11 excused Bush and Blair’s actions. McKinney therefore argues that 9/11 itself is fair game for an investigation. She joins the former 9/11 Commission members and Congressional 9/11 investigators.
